Battle of the Bulges

My husband says I'm fat. My children quote the same.
My dresses just don't fit; this really is a shame.
My appetite is enormous. Yes, my figure is too
For I already resemble the hippo at the zoo.
I used to never gain no matter what I ate.
But now I'm not so lucky for dieting is my fate.
All foods are very tempting but I love that starchy stuff
So avoiding all those calories; I find it rather rough!
Ice cream is my weakness, and pastries; my delight.
So when I try reducing my will power is a sight.
I start out so determined to keep my diet on track
But every time I loose a little I gain it all right back.
And never were those foods so enticing to me
As they are right now; I'm on a diet, you see!
