Thanks For My Canine Friend

February 25, 2000

Lord, I'm just a poor farmer. I'm sure You're aware,

Because I feel Your love, and I know You're there.

Lord I'm so thankful for the blessing you send.

And I'm especially thankful for my canine friend.

Many a squirrel he does tree.

And old Shep is so loyal he'd kill for me.

When my cattle are out he herds them back.

He's quite a helper and that's a fact.

He brings me slippers whenever I ask.

He performs so willingly every single task.

When I am blue he seems to know,

Then he snuggles so close his love to show.

He protects this place as if it were a palace.

He senses all danger or hints of malice.

When there's things to do, he helps with them.

The rain, sleet and snow never stops him.

He stays beside me on every chore

Even when he's tired or his are feel sore.

Lord, I just want to thank you, and let you know

Shep is such a blessing. I appreciate him so.
